What if you are expecting a bouquet of flowers but are greeted with a pot of cactus instead? Are you appalled at this gesture or do you take that very plant, water it and watch it grow?
The world is full of Cactus but we don’t have to sit on it
We live in a world where all is definitely not red and rosy; instead we are bogged down by our expectations when they do not match the results. When nothing works according to our plan, we are always tempted to give up and blame the forces that rained on your parade. In spite of all the stories we heard and read growing up, optimism is not really our forte.Hurdles are part and parcel of our everyday lives, but we need to jump, skip and crawl if we need to get to the finish line. I believe that when we are broken, we need to pick ourselves up and brush it off. After all, life is not a game which we can control with the left, right, up and down keys. It requires strength, patience and willpower to get to wherever you want.
Us humans have always found a way to deal with the problems that have come our way. Which is why today, the deaf can dance to music, the dumb can easily communicate, and the blind can read effortlessly.Humans are resilient beings. We have the capacity to turn things upside down, although we need to find it within ourselves to push further to achieve what we dream. Today, we wouldn’t have the magic world of Harry Potter had J.K. Rowling decided to end her life. She fought the tides and came up strong. Similarly, when you see a cactus, you don’t have to sit on it, instead water it and watch it grow.
We come across numerous variables that make or break us, but must resolve to make these experiences shape and mould us into a person who makes a younger you proud who you’ve become, and an older you who will reminisce who you were.
