After securing a part in the Emmy-winning HBO series Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney quickly gained notoriety. She portrays Cassie Howard in the programme, a well-liked cheerleader who is always seeking approval from everyone around her (especially men).
Although Sweeney had experience in the entertainment industry before to landing the series (she had previously been in The Handmaid’s Tale), it is clear that Cassie has become her most recognisable role; in fact, the actress has already gotten two Emmy nominations for the role.
Since appearing in Euphoria, Sweeney’s career has really taken off. She even got a tiny part in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time. Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Margo Robbie are in Hollywood.
The native of Washington has now gone on to book further episodic projects including The White Lotus.
Despite all of this, Sweeney has admitted that her acting income is still insufficient to support a Hollywood lifestyle.
Money problems plagued Sweeney’s family when he was a child. They moved into the Holiday Inn in Burbank, where four of them remained in a room for nine months, after packing their belongings one day.
Sweeney quipped that they were living “the poor version of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” even though it was a difficult period in their life, adding that she and her brother “made the most of it.”
In order to manufacture grilled cheese sandwiches, they hid in the kitchen and made friends with the personnel. A “hidden set of stairs” that led to two vacant storeys was also found by the siblings. They would go around the building looking for “treasure.”
The actress mused, “There’s also a lovely memory there, too.
Despite everything, Sweeney has always wanted to be an actor. She even prepared a presentation for her parents in an effort to win their approval, and it was successful.
Unfortunately, despite having several arrangements in place, the actress subsequently came to the unfortunate realisation that not everything goes as planned. She felt unhappy on the day she turned 18 years old.
When I reached 18, Sweeney said, “I always dreamed I’d have enough money to purchase my parents’ old home back.”
And somehow, if they had bought that home back, my parents would have reconciled.
The second season of Euphoria has ended, and although the whole cast is pleased to keep the programme running, Sweeney also appears to acknowledge that it hasn’t been financially rewarding. For her involvement throughout the first season, the actress reportedly received a salary of $25,000 each episode.
Sweeney allegedly earned a significant rise for season 2 as a result of the show’s positive reviews, ultimately receiving $350,000 for her efforts on the full season, or around $43,750 each episode (Euphoria released eight episodes for the second season).
