As she prepares to become Fox News Sunday’s regular host, journalist Shannon Bream recounted on Twitter how she was dismissed from her first television position.
According to a claim by Fox News, Bream will become the program’s first female host on September 11, 2022, when she begins her full-time hosting duties. In addition to her new position, she will continue to serve as Fox News’s lead legal reporter.
Since Chris Wallace’s departure to CNN at the end of the previous year, the position has remained empty.
Suzanne Scott, chief executive officer of Fox News Media, described Bream as a “excellent journalist, reporter, and anchor” who has developed a “strong and durable bond” with Fox’s viewers.
Despite this support, Bream tweeted on Saturday about one of her first business disasters.
She wrote, “Y’all, I was dismissed from my first TV job by a guy who said I was the worst person he had ever seen on TV.”
“He also warned me I would never succeed in this industry. I felt embarrassed. I wept a great deal. I prayed a great deal. That guy was kind to me.”
In a series of subsequent tweets, Bream detailed how she utilised this experience to enhance her skills for future possibilities.
She stated, “I had much to learn, and while I spent months trying to have an email or phone call returned, I reviewed my films and became honest with myself.”
“There is always space for improvement, and trust me, I have room for improvement.
I gained a hearty portion of humility and discovered that God enables us to traverse valleys for our own benefit.
This was also true when I endured years of terrible agony and was finally diagnosed with an incurable genetic disorder.
“God walks with us through our darkest tragedies and rejoices with us on our highest peaks.
Our circumstances may alter, but he will never change. This week, I am extremely appreciative for it, and I cannot wait to begin my new journey on Fox News Sunday.”
According to a Fox News article, Bream was a consistent attraction for Fox News Sunday viewers throughout her stint as a guest presenter for the programme.
She had attracted 20 percent more viewers than the show’s average in 2021, and her January debut as host was the highest-rated Fox News Sunday programme of 2022.
In June, she also grabbed 37% of the advertiser-desired group of 25-54-year-old adults.
In addition to her career as a journalist, Bream is a published novelist whose novels concentrate on the biblical exploits of women.
In March 2021, she published “The Women of the Bible Speak,” followed by “The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak” a year later.
“When you’re putting together a book, no of how much you want to concentrate on the material, you can’t help but wonder whether it will ever hit the New York Times bestseller list.” Earlier in the year, Bream told Fox News Digital.
“I don’t believe that anybody who helped put together these last two volumes on the Fox label could have predicted the reaction that we received from the public.”
