Cuoco said that she was struggling with post-divorce depression while shooting season 2 of “The Flight Attendant.”
She invited her co-star, Zosia Mamet, to move in.
“I needed someone there,” she said. My mind was completely slipping away from me.
Kaley During her divorce with equestrian Karl Cook, Cuoco said that she relied heavily on her close friend Zosia Mamet.
Both Cuoco and Mamet feature in the HBO Max series “The Flight Attendant,” and during production of season two, Cuoco reportedly became so miserable that she begged Mamet to move in with her.
I really needed someone there,” she said. The phrase “I was going crazy” describes my condition well.
She rented an Airbnb for a while, but it didn’t last forever,” Cuoco said. “I even suggested that they “simply move in with me.” In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever felt more alone in my whole life.”
After a “intervention on myself,” Cuoco says she sought help in counselling.
She told Variety, “It was the first time that I began treatment – I’ve been quite upfront about that.” “In retrospect, I should have jumped in at the beginning of season one, but I was going through a lot personally and professionally before season two began. What happened was very awful. In addition, I had a stress rash that covered my whole body and persisted for three months. For almost three months, my leg was actually on fire. When this happened, I was so weak that I could hardly move.”
Cuoco, who was nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal in the first season of “The Flight Attendant,” plays the lead role of Cassie, a flight attendant who returns home after a wild night out on the town to discover her slain lover in bed with her.
Cassie’s inner turmoil is explored more in season two. Anne, her closest friend, is played by Mamet.
In March of 2016, Cuoco started dating Cook. They tied the knot on June 30, 2018, and Cuoco has already requested a divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, for the month of September, 2021.
It was during this time that she was launching the second season of “The Flight Attendant.”
Cuoco told Variety, “Going through my divorce, it was truly a pretty sad moment.” “I had no idea how to handle the situation. I was drowning my sadness and disappointment in work. The character’s low mood wasn’t helping me, however. There was a time when I truly, really struggled. Many tears were shed.”
