Every cloud has a silver lining || GD Topics

Have you ever felt that you do not feel like getting up from bed today? Do you feel that you want to be left alone sometimes? Have you ever felt that people around you just do not understand you and you are alone? Do you feel sad and misunderstood?

These feelings are a part of life. You are not alone. And do you remember if I were to ask you, “Was it always like this? Have you not felt happy and over the moon, laughing your way to others hearts?” I am sure that when you remember such incidents, they will bring the smile back to your face. There were many days when you laughed and shared, when you were just happy to be. You will recall many joyous moments which have enriched you as a person and brought you many enjoyable memories.
Every cloud has a silver lining
Remember that all things which seem bad today will be back to normal soon and that you are not alone if you feel this way, sad. Many others feel the same way, and are perhaps in a much worse off position that you are in today. It is not as bad as it seems, but it is just a perspective. Things will turn around for the better. But it is important to identify when you get caught in such a whirlpool of negative thoughts and learn to quickly snap out of it. Identify those thoughts and activities which you enjoy and help you recover from a cloudy situation to warm sunny refreshing day.

See every such incident as an opportunity to learn and grow from there. And believe that nobody is perfect. Things will get bad sometimes and you are allowed to groan and moan and complain about it. Nobody has it easy. Everybody is fighting with their own issues. There are some days which are good, and some days not so good. But remember to hold your faith close to your heart and your head be held high. Time will heal as it has done in the past. You may not be in charge of the circumstances or the situation that you are facing but you can be in charge of your emotions and your responses.

This cloud has a silver lining and this phase shall pass soon. Robert Schuller says “Tough times do not last, but tough people do.” So make a choice- to be happy and smile. There is a new tomorrow waiting, The Beautiful Unique You who will see through this cloud.

Discussion :- Every cloud has a silver lining

  • IntroductionThis common phrase or idiom urges people not to despair in trouble, because for everything bad that happens, there is something good that happens with it.Application

This term was first used by the poet John Milton in his poem Comus, and he said “was I deceived, or did a sable cloud turn forth her silver lining on the night?” Later, it became a common phrase. This phrase is generally used to encourage people to see the brighter side of an unfavorable situation. It indicates that we should not lose hope when we are faced with a tough situation, but know that things will get better with time. Wise people say that every experience in our life occurs with the purpose of teaching us. Every experience, good or bad, helps us grow as individuals. Difficult situations help us in becoming more mature, and strong.

It is up to us to learn from our bad experiences, and grow to be better equipped in dealing with similar situations in the future. We will meet different types of people in life. Especially in the work place, different people have different approaches to work. When we have to work in a team, progression of our work might depend on inputs from another person. Everybody will have a different mode of working, and as a result, we might face unpleasant situations. We should not despair when we face such crises, but use the opportunity to learn, and devise methods on how to deal with similar issues in the future.

You can always take some good out of whatever bad that happens to you. While it might look easy to preach, but difficult to rationalize and follow when we are suffering, we must be able to console ourselves with spirituality. Without unhappiness, we would be unable to experience true joy. Without suffering, we would be unable to experience compassion. Every coin has two sides, and we should accept that when we have good days, we will also have bad days.

We need to remember that the diamond is the most precious stone known to man. It is also the toughest substance known to man. It can even be used to cut surfaces. How does the diamond acquire this toughness? It is only through several rounds of rough polishing and beating. Likewise, for the diamond in us to shine, we need to go through rough experiences.

  • Every bad situation has some good aspect to it. This proverb is usually said as an encouragement to a person who is overcome by some difficulty and is unable to see any positive way forward. Every cloud has a silver lining means that you should never feel hopeless because difficult times always lead to better days. Difficult times are like dark clouds that pass overhead and block the sun. When we look more closely at the edges of every cloud we can see the sun shining there like a silver lining. Looking at the positive side of things even when difficult times are present. When trying to cheer someone up who is feeling down, someone might use this phrase, then follow it up by saying something positive Thick and dark clouds sometimes obstruct the sun. When it happens, the surroundings darken. It is not a pleasant sight. But if we look at the clouds carefully we can see that their edges are tinted with a silvery glow. This glow tells us that the sun is somewhere there behind the clouds. As time passes, the clouds will move off and the sun will come out of it. This clever metaphor is used in the proverb to denote that sorrows and calamities are only momentary. Wherever there is sorrow, happiness will be somewhere nearby. Whenever there is shadow, light should be nearby. And whenever there is darkness, the bright light is near. The proverb teaches us not to lose hope in the hours of darkness and sorrow. It reminds us to be optimistic and hopeful. It tells us not to lose heart because it might be just when we are about to quit that victory reveals itself. Like the silver tint on the edges of the dark cloud, happiness always lurks behind the darkest hour. At the end, I want to say if there is darkness in your life, the sunshine is all behind you.

    Conclusion

It is alright to feel sorrow, and depression. Life will always throw a variety of challenges at us. It is ok to express our pain and anger through tears, or whichever medium we choose. However, we should remember that every situation will pass, and we will outlive every bad day. So look for the silver lining in every cloud. Also Read:- How To Prepare For Group Discussion Tips
